About
Racer. Engineer.
Privateer.
I’m Glenn — a kart racer from Leicester who has spent more than two decades chasing tenths, mostly with my dad in the awning and my own name on the entry list.
Where it started
My first laps were in a cadet kart at Stretton Circuit when I was eight. Stretton is a mad, old-school track and the perfect place to learn. A Prokart and a TKM four-stroke followed for practice, and I started racing competitively at around fourteen.
Since then I’ve raced just about everything with four wheels and no roof: Open, TKM Extreme, Senior X30, OK, KZ, 100cc Pre-95 and Pre-2000, Formula C, 125 Superkarts and Division 1 Superkarts. That variety has made me adaptable — I can jump into a new class and get on the pace quickly.
A family team
There’s no factory team behind #23. My dad is my mechanic and has been since day one; my mum is the reason anyone in our awning eats breakfast. We load the Luton van ourselves, set the kart up ourselves and go racing against teams with ten times our budget. I wouldn’t have it any other way — but it does mean every bit of support goes straight onto the track.
The day job
Away from karting I’m a software developer and architect. I also founded KartSetups, setup and analysis software for kart racers. I treat a race weekend like an engineering problem: data, setup notes and a plan, then execution.
Training
Racing at the front means being fit and light. I’m in the gym every morning before work and I watch what I eat. Ahead of the 2024 World Championship I took more than 10 kg off to get closer to the OK class weight limit — and I’ve kept that discipline since.
Off track
Sim racer and Leicester City supporter. If I’m not at a kart track, I’m probably talking about one.
